Non-Profit Discounts

DrakNet has a very active non-profit program that supports a variey of sites at discounted and steeply discounted fees or, in some cases, at no charge whatsoever when we feel that the cause is something we truly wish to actively support and the organization is struggling with it's presence.

At any given time, over 10% up to 25% of DrakNet's hosting clients are hosted at a discount (stop by the Works Section of the Blog to meet some of them), or at no charge, and our goal is to make sure that percentage stays that way. Unlike other free non-profit offers, DrakNet dos not automatically disqualify religious, legislative or political sites.

Because of DrakNet's progressive mission, our focus is to foundationally support sites that are actively involved in helping to make the world a better place. To that end, we have the following discounts available.

Option One: Progressive Non-Profits are eligible for an Intro mini-account

A non-profit with a progressive mission is probably eligible for a free NonProfit Account considered an Intro (only available to non-profits). (Please note that the domain name is not included, and must be purchased through us or any registrar of your choice). Comes with 1 gig space. 15 gigs traffic, and 5 of everything else. You must be pre-approved, and after you are approved you will be given a code to formally open the account, so please don't use the general form on our site expecting that you'll get your account free. Once you sign up for a pay account it cannot be converted.

Option Two: Name Your Account, Name Your Price

Any non-profit organization or community group with a progressive mission is eligible for a discount of varying percentages off our regular shared hosting plans.

Please note that the domain name is not included, and must be purchased through us or any registrar of your choice, and option 2 is not available to strictly religious sites that primarily serve their own membership only. There must be some element of outreach, work on behalf of others less fortunate, or organized protest efforts against "common foes" of the planet and/or the people at large whether those be rights violations, exploitation, pollution, and so on.

When applying, realize that you're essentially asking us to make an ongoing donation to your cause, and to make a choice to support what you're doing with our client's money - sell us on why we should, and why what you are doing really matters.

You can request a discount of anywhere from 10% to 100% off normal hosting fees. To that end, you'll need to let us know why you're requesting the discount and account level that you are as well as why you feel we should support what you're doing. Fill out our online application here and let us know what your organization does and that you are interested in seeing whether you qualify for Option Two - and please explain why you feel you need that account level.
